Frantic moves to HTML5 and CSS3

Having successfully piloted HTML5 and CSS3 on several sites, including the recently renewed frantic.com, we feel that these standards are now mature enough to bring real value to our clients and their users.

All Frantic’s projects will now be implemented using HTML5 and CSS3, with backwards compatibility guaranteed. Our robust platforms, particularly Catalyst Web Framework, have the flexibility required to make this possible.

How do HTML5, CSS3, and their related technologies improve our offering?

  • We can improve visuals and interaction with an expanded palette of techniques, allowing more ambitious and effective design without compromises in timeline or budget
  • We can make sites more accessible on smartphones and on devices like the iPad, optimizing content for different screen sizes and for both landscape and portrait viewing
  • We can implement interactive and dynamic graphics without the need for a Flash plug-in
  • We can better establish the user’s location, enabling localized and personalized services via Geolocation API

The widening selection of browsers and platforms out there is making standards yet more important, and with this commitment we’re ensuring that our clients won’t be left behind.
